Our Company
Our Background
The CINCS interdisciplinary team is developing a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for forestry and land-based asset management with the goal of creating a viable global market for forestry-based carbon offsets. We have learned that the best way to achieve this goal is to automate the entire process from project origination to the issuance of credits. Utilizing our in-house and partners' expertise and the latest land monitoring technologies, we are developing an automated system for project development of terrestrial carbon offsets.
- We believe in the application of innovative technologies, including satellite based remote sensing, internet-enabled geographic information systems, and global positioning systems to automate and analyze land use change and natural resource carbon stocks.
- The CINCS Carbon SolutionsTM will have a suite of services that guides clients through the complete project cycle from feasibility studies to issuance of credits. These project cycles are similar to the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) systems of project development.
- CINCS has a good understanding of the expenses involved in the development of different forestry and agriculture-based project types and can guide project developers to produce carbon credits at the lowest cost.
- CINCS has access to investors and end-use buyers of carbon credits that meet the standards of the VCS and other recognized standards.
- CINCS is developing an all-inclusive information and educational resource page on its web site for all types of terrestrial carbon offsets. This consists of news stories, market information, In-Focus analysis generated by the company and sent each month in its "Forestracker" as well as a resource library that is up-dated each month with the most current reports. Please visit the “Forestracker,” “Resource Library,” and “Useful Links” sections for up-to-date news and content.
Our Work
CINCS' expertise is in developing land use based emissions offset projects. We specialize in the following types of land use projects:
- Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation (ARR)
- Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD)
- Agricultural Land Management (ALM)
- Improved Forestry Management (IFM)
Our Future
As the risks of climate change become more widely addressed in the political arena through national and international legislated emissions caps, corporations and governments will look to comply. Terrestrial offsets can provide an opportunity to reduce emissions in a less expensive way than increasing industry efficiencies through retrofitting and new technologies. CINCS is working to ensure the viability of terrestrial offsets as an alternative source of emissions reductions.
